Securing your account

Learn how to protect your LookBerry account from hacking and identity fraud.

The security of your personal information is our top priority, so we take steps to protect your account. There are also some simple steps you can take to make your account secure.

Update your contact information

It is important to keep your contact information up to date so that we can keep you up to date with news about your account. If you change your address, phone number, or create a new email address, please update your contact information as soon as possible so that your account information stays correct.

Beware of fake or phishing emails

Spoofed or phishing emails are emails that claim to be from LookBerry and are sent with the intent to gain access to your passwords and other sensitive information. If you receive a suspicious email allegedly sent by LookBerry, forward it to us immediately at [email protected]. Do not click on any links in the email or open any attachments. We will let you know we received your email and conduct an internal investigation.

Report any suspicious activity on your account

It's a good idea to check your emails and settings regularly to make sure no one has accessed your account and made changes without your permission. Check your active offers and purchases to make sure they are yours. If anything has changed without your permission, contact us immediately. We will notify you by email if a new device is used to log in to your account that has not previously been used to access your account. If you do not recognize your login information, contact us to let us know. If you believe someone is trying to gain control of your account, we may temporarily block your account until we can safely regain control of it. We can also help you to delete any unauthorized offers or purchases.

Get help with a hacked account

If you believe your account has been compromised, we will do everything we can to protect it.

If there is suspicious activity associated with your account, it is important to act quickly. If you think your account has been compromised, first check to see if anyone with access to your account has made changes to it and used it to buy or sell items.

Signs that your account has been compromised

If your account has been compromised, you may notice some or all of the following signs:

  • Changes in contact information or address information
  • Purchases you didn't make
  • Offers you didn't create

If someone has used your LookBerry account without your permission, you should contact the bank that issued your credit card and have it blocked.

Identifying phishing phone calls and emails

Be suspicious of any unusual request for your personal or financial information by email or telephone. It may be an attempted phishing attack. Phishing is an illegal act committed to get a person to share his or her sensitive information, such as credit card information. Scammers can impersonate known companies via email, phone or text messages in the hope that the recipients will provide confidential information and/or download malicious software. If a message requires you to take immediate action, contains attachments or links, asks for personal information or offers a suspicious transaction, you should be careful. Do not click on links that come from people you do not know and do not reply to them.

Phishing phone calls

LookBerry employees do not call you unannounced regarding your account information. If you receive a missed call from someone claiming to be an LookBerry representative, do not call that number back. If you are not sure if the request was genuine or not, check your email, as we previously sent you an email.

Phishing attempts via email

A phishing e-mail pretending to be an official LookBerry e-mail usually contains a link leading to a fake Website that will prompt you to log in to provide personal and account information. Phishing emails may contain the LookBerry logo and a fake LookBerry address in the sender line.

Here are some typical features of phishing:

  • Requesting confidential information
  • Persistent or threatening tone that asks you to act quickly
  • Unsolicited attachments
  • A generic greeting, such as "Attention, LookBerry user."
  • A web address that looks authentic but may contain a typo or additional numbers and letters (e.g. , http://signin-lookberry.com or http://signin.lookberry1.com)

Check out the tips and resources to help you stay safe when shopping and selling online at the LookBerry Safety Center.

Report a phishing phone call or email

If you receive a suspicious phone call or email, you must report it to us immediately.

Suspicious phone call

Tell the caller that you will call back through official LookBerry communication channels. If you miss the call, do not return the call at that number. Email us at [email protected] with details of what the caller asked for and the phone number from which the caller called.

Do not click on any links in the email or open any attachments. Send us an email as an attachment to [email protected].

Recognize legitimate contacts with LookBerry

If we need to contact you about your account, you can expect the following:

If your account has been hacked, the first step is to try to log in to your account.

If you can log in, follow these steps:

  • Check your contact information, shipping addresses and payment information.
  • Check your active offers and purchases to make sure they are yours.

Contact us for assistance in removing unauthorized offers or purchases. If your account has not been compromised by fraudulent activity, you do not need to contact us.

Account blocking, restrictions and suspension

If your account does not appear in search results on lookberry.com, it may have been suspended.

From time to time we may restrict or suspend accounts to protect our community. If you are a seller, your payments will be suspended until the restrictions are lifted. If your account is restricted or suspended, we will notify you by email about the steps you need to take to restore your account.

What happens when your account gets locked

If your account is blocked, you will not be able to:

  • create offers, buy or sell
  • add new items to the warehouse or edit existing ones
  • contact users who have accepted offers
  • reply to messages
  • receive payments

If you are a seller, your payouts will be suspended until the blocking, restriction, or suspension of your account is lifted. Any members of the offerers may withdraw their consent to abide by the terms previously accepted.

Reasons for account restriction

Restrictions usually apply to accounts for one of the following reasons:

  • You have debts that need to be paid
  • You need to reimburse LookBerry for the customer' reimbursement
  • You have violated one of our rules or policies

Account restoration

Restoring your account can be as easy as waiting for the suspension to end - it all depends on the reason we suspended your account. Full details will be in the email we sent you. If your account has been restricted or suspended due to unpaid seller charges or refunds for the buyer, you can make a one-time payment to resolve the issue. When we receive your payment, your account will be reinstated. Alternatively, you can add a new payment method. If LookBerry does not currently manage your payments, you may also need to complete registration and verification before your account will be fully restored.

Account Verification Suspended

When you start selling on LookBerry, we need to verify your identity and verify your account details in order for you to receive payouts. We may temporarily block your account until we verify your details. Once the verification is complete, we will send you an email.

Multiple account policy

To maintain a safe and secure environment for all of our users, all accounts a user uses are governed by our policies. There are many reasons why users choose to have more than one LookBerry account. For example, users who like to buy and sell may need separate account types for each activity. Other users doing business on LookBerry may prefer to manage separate accounts for different types of products. Whether you have one account or multiple accounts, LookBerry expects users to effectively manage each of their accounts to meet the highest standards of buyers and sellers. These standards and rules apply to every account and help ensure a safe and positive experience with LookBerry. Users are expected to resolve issues as they arise and follow the steps provided by LookBerry to get accounts back in good standing before continuing to buy or sell with other accounts. Make sure you follow these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in various actions being taken against you, including restrictions on your buying and selling rights or suspension of your account. Please note that in some cases where a user has two accounts and one of them is blocked/restricted, the second account may also be restricted.
